MARION – Tom Richter led Waterloo West to a victory Monday in a quadrangular boys’ golf meet at Hunter’s Ridge. It was the first win of the season for West. The Wahawks finished first in the team standings with a nine-hole score of 150, eight strokes better than Cedar Rapids Jefferson and Linn-Mar. Richter shared medalist honors with Eric Lehmkuhl of Jefferson at 36. “I am very excited about how our guys are coming around for the upcoming (Mississippi Valley Conference) divisional meet,” said head coach Josh Barta. “Our guys have worked hard all season and their hard work has started to pay off.” TEAM STANDINGS – 1. Waterloo West 150; 2. Cedar Rapids Jefferson 158; 3. Linn-Mar 158; 4. Cedar Rapids Xavier 159. NOTE - Jefferson awarded second on tiebreake. MEDALISTS – Tom Richter (WW) and Eric Kehmkuhl (CRJ) 36. WEST – Richter 36, Austin Jackson 37, Will Shirey 38, Nick Rafferty 39, Sam Richter 43, Jace Holton 45, Parker Johnson 50.
