    Date: Saturday, October 15th, 2011 

    Gate:  Adult-$5.00    Student-$3.00 

    1.     The doors to the gym will open at 8:00 AM.

    2.     Practice balls will be furnished.  Please leave your volleyballs at home.

    3.     Towels will not be provided for showers after the tournament.

    4.     The tournament will be a round robin with each team playing each other 2-3 games.  Two games to 21 rally scored with no cap.  Third game to 15 rally scored with no cap.  Places will be determined by:

    • Overall match
    • Head to Head
    • Game Record
    • Defensive points allowed
    • Coin flip

            

    5.     There will be a concession stand available during the day.  We are a peanut free facility.  Please let your players and parents know!!  We ask that no teams bring in TEAM meals. Please clean up after yourself.

    6.     Coin flip by officials to determine home and visiting team and serve prior to prematch warm up.  Visiting team shall call the initial coin toss (winner chooses serve or receive, loser chooses side).  Home team calls flip in 3rd and deciding game.

    7.     The warm-up for 1st and 2nd round will be 10 minutes.(divided 2-4-4)  After that the warm-up will be 2-1 with no middle hitting.  First round warm-up will begin at 8:45.

    8.     There will be locker rooms available to use but they will be unlocked so please leave your valuables at home.\

    9.     The teams competing in the tournament are:

    If there is a tie for 3rd place there will be a one game rally scored playoff game to points with no cap.

    All other ties will be decided by head-to-head competition and then by defensive points allowed.

    The top three teams from each pool will advance to the playoffs.  The playoffs will be 2 out of 3 games to 21 points rally scored no cap.  The third game will be rally scored to 15 points if needed and there will be no cap.

    2011 Freshman Volleyball Metro Tournament

    Cedar Falls High School, 1015 Division Street, Cedar Falls, IA


    Welcome to the 2011 Freshman Volleyball Metro Tournament! Enclosed is the information for the tournament to be held Monday, October 10th. If there are any questions, please notify us as soon as possible.

    Site: Two pools will be played at Cedar Falls High School (Pools A and B)

    Time:
    4:30 pm facility opens
    5:00 pm pool play begins
    Note: there will be no coaches meeting

    Admission:
    Adults - $3
    Students - $2


    Concessions: Will be available for all players, coaches, and fans. Please do not bring in coolers or other food into the facility.

    Warm up balls: Volleyballs will be provided.

    Scorekeepers and line judges: We will provide workers for each pool.

    Warm-Up: Teams playing at 5:00 will begin warm up at 4:40 p.m. These teams will have a 5-6-6 warm-up for their first match of the day. Teams playing their second match and beyond will have a 3-3 warm up on the net they will be playing on.

    Scoring: Matches in pool play/championship play will be to 21 with game 3 being played to 15.

    Championship The winner from Pool A will play Pool B to determine the champion. If a tie occurs for pool champion the following procedures will be used.

    Friday:  Put it all together and play it out
