The Waterloo West Wahawks kicked off the 2008 Fooball Season with a 35-15 win over Dubuque Senior. As was expected, the Wahawks moved the ball in the air, and on the ground, running off to a 20-0 halftime lead. Numerous penalties and some mistakes let Senior break the shutout, but West ended the game with an interception and 30 yard drive that let to a Mike Steimel touchdown run for the final tally.
Colin Styron had 2 rushing touchdowns, Max Shower had one TD reception, Jud Wienke scored on a QB sneak, and a bad snap on a Senior attempted punt lead to a safety.
