Carley Caughron Signs with ISU Swimming

Carley Caughron signed her letter of intent yesterday to attend and swim for Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. Carley concluded her brilliant career at West High School with the following accomplishments: She was voted First Team All State three times, and she is a four time All Mississippi Valley selection. She was the MVC champion in the 50 freestyle and 100 fly during her senior year. In addition, she was named the 2020 Regional Swimmer of the Year.

Carley holds five individual school records and is a part of one relay school record. She also holds two individual pool records in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. Carley also lettered in track and qualified for the State Track Meet in Des Moines.

Dr. Anthony W. Pappas, Director of Athletics at Waterloo West High School, comments: “I am extremely proud of Carley and happy for her and her entire family. She has worked tremendously hard to become a great swimmer. We wish her nothing but the best as she joins the Iowa State Swimming Program.”
