Scott McCadam Inducted to Wahawk "Elite" Hall of Fame

Scott McCadam, was inducted into the Wahawk "Elite Athlete" Hall of Fame Friday night, during halftime of the Wahawk Girls' Varsity Basketball game.

A 1982 graduate from Waterloo West High School, Scott was the 1982  Iowa HIgh School Class 4A State Champion in the 100yd freestyle. Scott went on to attend Iowa State Univeristy, where he accomplished the following:

  • All-American – 100yd Freestyle – Swimming – 1982
  • 2x Big Eight Conference Swimmer of the Year – 1985, 1986
  • 5x All-American honors – Swimming – 1984-1986
  • 2nd place – NCAA Championships - 100yd Freestyle - 1986

Scott also was accomplished on the World swimming stage, setting the following World Records:

  • 200m Freestyle Relay (1:28.32 Bonn) – 1987
  • 400m Freestyle Relay (3:17.08 tokyo) – 1985

Scott McCadam will be inducted into the Iowa Swimming Coaches Hall of Fame during Saturday’s Iowa State High School Swim Meet meet in Marshalltown.
