Wahawk Main Gym

Robert S. Siddens Gymnasium

The Main Gymnasium at Waterloo West High School was renamed on November 10th, 1996 for legendary Wrestling Coach and Waterloo West Educator, Robert (Bob) S. Siddens.

The gymnasium is the orignal facility constructed in 1955 at the time of West High being built at the present location. Although one of the older gymnasiums in the state, Robert S. Sidden Gymnasum gym provides a great venue for watchign basketball, wrestling and volleyball, and has been the home to many Wahawk sports legends, including Head Coaches Bob Siddens and Dr. Anthony pappas, and athletes Dan Gable, Bob Bowlsby, Dale Anderson, Molly Goodenbour, and Nina Smith to name a few.

The orginal gym configuration had a capacity of approximately 2,800 The replacement of the balcony bleachers with newer bleachers has reduced the capacity to ~2,000.
